Apple’s September event is underway, and the iPhone 18 Pro is one of the biggest highlights of the “Surprise and shine” showcase. Apple’s official event page confirms the September 9 presentation, while live coverage is reporting major upgrades across the Pro lineup.
iPhone 18 Pro Gets a Smaller Dynamic Island
The iPhone 18 Pro keeps the familiar Pro design but reportedly makes an important change to the front display. Apple is expected to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island, with some Face ID components moving underneath the display. The smaller cutout can also support up to three live activities at once.
The Pro models are expected to continue with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes, alongside more efficient LTPO+ display technology.
A20 Pro Chip and Better Cooling
Performance is another major focus. The A20 Pro is expected to use TSMC’s 2nm process, potentially improving both performance and energy efficiency. Apple is also reportedly upgrading the vapor-chamber cooling system to help control temperatures during demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, and AI workloads.
